Not Your Home.

2nd Day # 2

 2nd Day # 2

Read Genesis 1: 6 -8

What was created on the second day? Well when you read the description of events it does not sound like much, a division of waters with an expansion between them. The water under the expanse and the water above the expanse. GOD named the firmament Heaven, It was evening and morning the second day. A division can be a good thing and in this case it was necessary in the creation process. Something of note on day two we are told that the location of Heaven is created, but we are never privy to all the finer details of the Heavens and what was put in there. That remains pretty much GOD’s mystery at this point, although later we will get to catch glimpse behind the curtain, so to speak. The other thing that is notable on the second day is there is no mention of a “good” anything. The first day had the light, it was good and moving forward you will notice other days have their things that are “good”, but good is conspicuously absent on Day two. Why? We will explore this a little more later at the conclusion of the creation process.

What is our take away from day two, sometimes things need to get done and it may not be good or pleasant at the time, but it is necessary to the overall finished product. I am from the generation where sometimes in the disciplining process a strap or the belt was used on me, but that was my realty growing up and it was rare. If you were to ask me my early parenting style, I would tell you quite honestly that we spanked our kids, all be it also rarely, yeah I can hear your gasps. Our kids are all grown now and have families of their own. They use time outs and other similar types of punishments to correct bad behavior in their children. Correcting bad behavior is never pleasant for a loving Parent or the child.

Parenting is hard work, but necessary!
