Genesis 3:4

4 “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. 5 “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.”

Who are the players - Adam, Eve, Serpent, (Lucifer, in the shadows) Angels, God. Who is Lucifer, one of the sons of God, a created being. He was perfect in beauty and wisdom. An anointed guardian who was given a high position. The next person is Adam, also a created being, made a little lower than the Angels, but created in the image of GOD. The image is not just him but the two together, Adam and the Woman. Was there a test that day, dunno? If there was it was not just the Woman that failed the test. On that day created perfection failed, innocence failed, love for what had been created failed. No sacrifices were offered, but a plan before foundation of the world was put into action. The creator would eventually die (take the punishment) for the created. We catch glimpses of what should have been, in the old and new testament. Moses saying to GOD in Exodus 32:32 "But now, if you will only forgive their sin—but if not, erase my name from the record you have written!” also Paul said in the New Testament in Romans 9:3 "for my people, my Jewish brothers and sisters. I would be willing to be forever cursed—cut off from Christ! if that would save them. Neither of these sacrifices could work, but they had asked, and they would do it, if it were at all possible. The heart and the love were evident. This is the heart, and the love GOD looks to cultivate in you and me. A love for what he has created and a desire to save it no matter the cost to us personally. Back in the garden, there was no substitute offered, no love given, not from the created perfect one, who should have loved the creation as the creator did, but Lucifer using the Serpent and lies brought about the death of two people for his own ambitions. Not even Adam who before he had eaten the fruit, could have decided to plead for the woman and show his love and care for her. As it was, he had no love or concern for his own flesh and blood. The Angels stood by, silent. We have seen this unfortunately played out over and over, every day in our present time. Women of all ages being beaten, abused, and murdered daily and Lucifer smiles, another created imager of God ruined. Men of all ages, color, ethnicity not caring for their fellow man by either consenting to abuse, hating, and killing one another daily and Lucifer smiles, another imager of God ruined.

We all need to wake up to the reality of who the real enemy is and tell him and his angels in a clear voice, “No more will we make you smile!”
