#7 Week End or Weak Beginning?

Read – Genesis Chapter 2: 1-3

So, the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything in them was completed. On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation. (NLT)

How many people like myself enjoy losing a little time and playing Sudoku? You know the puzzle / game that leaves out some of the numbers and you must deduce from what is missing by paying close attention to what is already there to determine what number is missing in a given spot. This is what we are going to attempt to do in reviewing the week of creation. To do that I’ll be drawing from other parts of the bible to fill in the gaps or numbers in the example of Sudoku. Let’s start with a few things that were created, but we are not given these details by the author at that point. One big one is a group of beings we commonly refer to as Angels, but they are also referred to as Messengers, Ministers of wind, and flames of fire. They were created in the beginning. At what point were they created, I do not know, there is a reference in the book of Job, where God is questioning Job if he thinks knows so much, Job 38:44 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much.5 Who determined its dimensions and stretched out the surveying line? 6 What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone 7 when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? ESV They were obviously present at that point and they are indeed powerful beings, but they were created, and they were created for a purpose. How do I know that? The book of Hebrews 1:14 - 14 Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation. Also, in the Gospel of Matthew 18:10 Jesus talking about little children gives a stern warning – 10 “Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father. [c] NLT Why do I think they are created beings and not equal at all to GOD? The apostle Paul makes mention of it in Romans 8:38 -38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, [p] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. NLT

On the first day it was mentioned that GOD has put all time in creation, and it works for GOD and not the other way round. The Sons of God, spirits are limited to the confines of creation and time. They can never be or never see fully the Who and What of GOD, granted their perspective and relationship has for a time been much closer, but that has changed.
