Not the Man of Lawlessness

    Someone just recently in the news and on social media claims that he is the Madi, the successor of Mohammed, and of Jesus Christ, Simon Peter, and that he is the true and legitimate pope. He claims it is proof for the Muslims on his father's side and the Christians on his mother's side. His followers name him as such, others think he is the Antichrist, and probably more think he needs psychiatric help.

I think at best he's a poor deluded soul in need of help and prayer for himself and his followers, at worst he is one of the antichrists who John talks about in his letter, and possibly a thermometer for the evil one who's testing the times and types of oppositions he may face and how best to combat them. This man does not fit the criteria for the lawless one. Also, the two faith systems cannot be merged because of a myriad of reasons the chief of which being Mohammed is dead, and Jesus is not. Followers of Jesus have the Holy Spirit, and he is all we need.

1 John 2:18 ESV — Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 ESV — Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,

Daniel 11:37-38

He shall pay no attention to the gods of his fathers, or to the one beloved by women. He shall not pay attention to any other god, for he shall magnify himself above all. He shall honor the god of fortresses instead of these. A god whom his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts.

One key identifier is that the man of lawlessness will have none of the law in him or about him.

The Decalogue, the law.

One - “You shall have no other gods before me. Exodus 20:3

A god his fathers did not know he would be his god. See Daniel 11:37-38

Two - You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Exodus You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, Exodus 20:4-5

Revelation 13:15

And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.

The lawless one will have an image, his very own mini-me if you will.

Three - “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain. Exodus 20:7

“And the king shall do as he wills. He shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak astonishing things against the God of gods. He shall prosper till the indignation is accomplished; for what is decreed shall be done. Daniel 11:36

He's not going to talk nicely about GOD or the angels, Michael, Gabriel, or any other elohim. (For one thing Michael could see right through him - Jude 1:9)

Four - Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Exodus 20:8

He will change the times and the law.

Daniel 7:25 ESV — He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.

Five - “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you. Exodus 20:12

Daniel 11:37-38 Again He will pay no attention to what our forefathers thought. He will not honor mother or father. The Devil despises the family unit because GOD created them.

Six - You shall not murder. Exodus 20:13

 The Devil was a murderer from the beginning, see John 8:44

Seven - “You shall not commit adultery. Exodus 20:14 The Devil desires things that don't belong to him. Unlawful unions, unclean mixtures are the Devil's handiwork.

Eight - “You shall not steal. Exodus 20:15

The Devil is a thief and a robber. See John10:1 & John 10:10

Nine - “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. The Devil is the father of lies. See John 8:44

Ten - You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.” Exodus 20:17

Isaiah 14:13 ESV — You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; - He wants it all.

That's the resume of the lawlessness one, No Law and No Love (Agape).

Don't get distracted, we are to be about the great commission and looking for one more soul, the ninety-nine are good start searching.
