Would Lando Calrissian suffer from cumulus city comparison?

Psalm 48

1 A Song. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah.
Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised
in the city of our God! His holy mountain,
2 beautiful in elevation, is the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion, in the far north, the city of the great King.
3 Within her citadels God has made himself known as a fortress.
4 For behold, the kings assembled; they came on together.
5 As soon as they saw it, they were astounded; they were in panic; they took to flight.
6 Trembling took hold of them there, anguish as of a woman in labor.
7 By the east wind you shattered the ships of Tarshish.
8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God, which God will establish forever. Selah
9 We have thought on your steadfast love, O God, in the midst of your temple.
10 As your name, O God, so your praise reaches to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with righteousness.
11 Let Mount Zion be glad! Let the daughters of Judah rejoice because of your judgments!
12 Walk about Zion, go around her, number her towers,
13bconsider well her ramparts, go through her citadels, that you may tell the next generation
14 that this is God, our God forever and ever. He will guide us forever.

Thoughts:

We are under the misconception that our final destination is heaven when in fact GOD's plan is to bring heaven to earth and join / bridge the two. Our destination isn't about a "where" it's about a "who". Our  desired destination should be, to be wherever GOD is and he's coming back to earth.

- Revelation 21:2 ESV — And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

GOD's city is:
- on a mountain
- holy
- beautiful
- praiseworthy
- pleasing to the eye
- perfect
- huge
- refered to as mount Zion
- in the northward direction.

- The city measures 12,000 stadia in each dimension (length, width, and height).
In modern terms, this is approximately 1,400 to 1,500 miles (about 2,200 to 2,400 kilometers) per side. 2.25 million square miles is a vast area. To give you a more helpful comparison It is nearly 60% of the total land area of the United States, which is about 3.8 million square miles.

- This city will be enormous, but notice how verse three reads "GOD is her fortress". The protection isn't found in the location it's found in the person, its found in GOD.

- When this city comes to earth it will be hard to miss, the kings of earth will see it and be awestruck and it will cause a slight panic. That's an understatement, they and others will flee, see verse 5 - "they took flight". Something as big as a continent coming down from space over our heads will be a spectacular sight and beyond our imagination. Its not a UFO because it will be big enough to identity. It won't be UAP unidentified anomalous phenomenon because the Apostle John described it for us so we know what to expect.

- Will this city as it enters the area cause a levanter? noun - An easterly wind blowing up the Mediterranean from the direction of the Levant. Hence verse seven - By the east wind you shattered the ships of Tarshish. In the Mediterranean, the levanter (or Euroclydon) is a strong east wind that affects the western Mediterranean, particularly from July to October, and is known for being dangerous to ships.

- This city will be established forever - verse eight. Let that sink in. GOD's family will be united, the unseen spiritual (elohim, angels, elders, spirits) and the corporal.
The ones who were in the positions of power and authority and could and did choose rebellion will loose thier positions and the ones filling those offices will have experienced first hand the consequences of sin and the problem of evil. Which answers the question could it ever happen again? No.
Will there be people that rebel in the new earth? Yes
Isaiah 65:20 — No more shall there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not fill out his days, for the young man shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner a hundred years old shall be accursed. There will be children born in the new earth and at that time a person who lives to be 100 will be considered young, and sinners will still be possible, but they will no longer be in positions as rulers, authorities, or cosmic powers. (Our present reality) Ephesians 6:12 — For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

- Verse nine when we think about GOD's stead fast love John 3:16 immediately comes to mind — “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. This love is found in the midst of the temple and in the physical sense embodied in Jesus who is the temple. Revelation 21:22 — And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb.

- verse ten his praise reaches to the ends of the earth. Philippines 2:9-11 — Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
The end of verse ten — Your right hand is filled with righteousness. Look what Jesus (our righteousness) is saying Luke 22:69 — But from now on the Son of Man shall be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”

Verses 11 to 14 describes rejoicing and also gives us a tour of the city. Compare this with what is described in Revelation 21:10-27, Revelation 22:1-5,  and finally Isaiah 65:17-25

My prayer is that through these descriptions and wrestlings of the Psalmist, Isaiah, and John as they try to put into words a description and picture of things so spectacular and hard to comprehend. I pray that you are encouraged and come to see there is a future of wonder waiting for you. So don't loose heart, don't give up, GOD has something unimaginable waiting for you.
In the words of the Apostle Paul — But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him” 1 Corinthians 2:9

GOD bless.
