Something to Sing About!
Psalm 57
1 To the choirmaster: according to Do Not Destroy. A Miktam of David, when he fled from Saul, in the cave. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.
2 I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.
3 He will send from heaven and save me; he will put to shame him who tramples on me. Selah God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness!
4 My soul is in the midst of lions; I lie down amid fiery beasts— the children of man, whose teeth are spears and arrows,
whose tongues are sharp swords.
5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth!
6 They set a net for my steps; my soul was bowed down. They dug a pit in my way, but they have fallen into it themselves. Selah
7 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast! I will sing and make melody!
8 Awake, my glory!fn Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn!
9 I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations.
10 For your steadfast love is great to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let your glory be over all the earth!
Psalm 57 thoughts:
Verses 1-2
David asks GOD to be merciful to him and he cries out for help. We know the end of this story, GOD is indeed merciful and faithful.
Verses 3 - 4
He will send from heaven and save me; he will put to shame him who tramples on me. Selah God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness!. My soul is in the midst of lions; I lie down amid fiery beasts— the children of man, whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.
His steadfast love is enough.
Daniel 6:22 God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.”
The one he sends is enough
Psalm 34:7 — The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
His encampment is enough.
His steadfast love is enough, one he sends is enough, the angel of the LORD is enough. Jesus, the love, the sender, the message. He is enough.
Psalm 57 verse 7
My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast! I will sing and make melody!
Steadfast - fixed
Is your heart in need of fixing?
Is singing to GOD fixing your heart?
Singing acts as a low-impact, accessible form of physical activity with cardiovascular benefits. It enhances parasympathetic tone, reduces stress, and improves vascular health. The most significant benefits are seen in microvascular function, HRV, and respiratory control. Singing is a promising non-pharmacological adjunct for heart health, especially for older adults and those with cardiovascular risk factors.
Making melody maybe mending a major muscle? That's definitely something to sing about!
A dysfunctional cloud server
Verses 10-11
For your steadfast love is great to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth!
How great is GOD' s goodness, faithfulness, and kindness? The Psalmist declares it extends as high as the heavens. If it were some how measurable it would also extend past heaven to the timeless, spacelessness which is only GOD. It is unmearsureable and infinite, such is the love of GOD. His love can, did, and does reach down to us. GOD's "faithfulness to the clouds" and interesting distinction wouldn't you agree?
Psalm 89:2 ESV — For I said, “Steadfast love will be built up forever; in the heavens you will establish your faithfulness.”
He will establish his faithfulness. I think presently the prince of the power of the air is the dividing line that interferes with GOD's faithfulness. Look what the angel tells Daniel, as soon as his prayer was heard by GOD the angel was dispatched, GOD was faithful, but the angel was delayed by the enemy.
see Daniel 10:11-12
Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words.
The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia,
see Hebrews 1:14 — Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?
- Prince of the power of the air. (see Eph 2:2)
- Spirits sent to serve.
- A cloud server? Yes
- Dysfunctional cloud server? Also yes.
Micheal and his angels have made the Heavens more faithful because they gave the Devil and his minions the boot (see Rev. 12:7-10). Now the earth and the clouds are waiting along with the rest of us.
How do you fix a bad cloud server?
1) Backup Important Data First
2) Shut Down the Server
3) Delete the Server Instance
Psalm 57:11 — Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth!
No more war or rebellion in heaven,
No more war or rebellion on earth.
Give up Mr. Devil your done, give up rulers, principalities and powers you've been beaten. All the unclean spirits and the rest of your followers can follow you right into the lake of fire.
My prayer that we would understand thru the Holy Spirit the height and depth of GOD's love and faithfulness towards us in Jesus, amen.
