The best hiding place hands down

The best hiding place hands down

Psalm 64

1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy.
2 Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the throng of evildoers,
3 who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows,
4 shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear.
5 They hold fast to their evil purpose; they talk of laying snares secretly, thinking, “Who can see them?”
6 They search out injustice, saying, “We have accomplished a diligent search.” For the inward mind and heart of a man are deep.
7 But God shoots his arrow at them; they are wounded suddenly.
8 They are brought to ruin, with their own tongues turned against them; all who see them will wag their heads.
9 Then all mankind fears; they tell what God has brought about and ponder what he has done.
10 Let the righteous one rejoice in the LORD
and take refuge in him! Let all the upright in heart exult!

Verse 1

David starts his conversation (song/prayer)
with GOD by complaining about evil people wanting to take his life.

Does GOD want to hear our complaints?
Yes!

Psalm 62:8 — Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah

Can GOD take the evil intended for our harm and use it for his glory?
Yes!

Genesis 50:20 — As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.

Verse 2

Are you looking for the perfect hiding place?
Have you believed, accepted, and confessed Jesus? Have you been baptized?

Your now in the ultimate hiding place.

Colossians 3:3 — For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

John 10:28 — I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

John 10:29 — My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

You are covered and held by a pair of hands that nothing created in the heavens above or on this earth will ever and never be able to touch.

The end of verse 2, verses 3 - 6

evildoers, (the children of the Evil Doer)
who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows,
shooting from ambush at the blameless,
shooting at him suddenly and without fear.

Revelation 12:10 — And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.    The arrows we didn't see.

Revelation 6:2 — And I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer.

Ephesians 6:16 — In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;

I've recently seen a comment or two not directed at me or the content, but in general not to look for a demon or a devil behind every rock or tree, not literally, but you know what I mean. They seem to ignore the fact that the enemy was behind the tree (in the garden), he was behind the war in heaven (see Revelation 12:7), he was behind the Genesis six trouble, Babel, Job's troubles, Haman's genocide plot, David's prideful census, He's behind the ruling rebels in psalm 82 council session because he can make the offer to Jesus of all the kingdoms of the world. He was behind Judas and the rulers principalities and powers. He likes attacking from the shadows as an ambush.

The vast difference between the enemy's hatred of us and Jesus' love for us is demonstrated in this -

Luke 22:69 — But from now on the Son of Man shall be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”

Hebrews 7:25 — Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

In times past when the Devil met with GOD he would brings accusations about people, but now Jesus who sat down at the right hand of the power is now constantly talking to GOD the father on our behalf because he loves us.

We've traded indictment for intercession,
and conversations of loathing and death for words of life from the WORD of life.

Verse 7

GOD's arrows are not like the Devil's they are percise and justified and not done from the shadows or abush. The evildoers own words and tongues will be the very thing that convicts them. In a way they are providing the LORD with the very ammunition (arrows) that will bring them down. Every word apart from a persons declaration that, "Jesus is their LORD" will condemn them and GOD will be justified in their choosen eternal destination and punishment.

Matthew 12:36-37 — I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Verse 8 - Unimpressive

With GOD we are diamonds, gold coins, beautiful creations, the work of his hands, but apart from him we are nothing.

With GOD -

Ezekiel 28:12 — “Son of man, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord GOD: “You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond,
beryl, onyx, and jasper,sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settingsand your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God;
in the midst of the stones of fire you walked.

Without GOD -

You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you. n the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence in your midst, and you sinned; so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God,
and I destroyed you,f O guardian cherub,
from the midst of the stones of fire. Your heart was proud because of your beauty;
you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground;
I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you.

Verse 9 - Pondering

Isaiah 14:16 — Those who see you will stare at you and ponder over you: ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms,

Some of heavenly beings will die like men, a thought to Ponder

Psalm 82:7 — nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince.”

Verse 9 - the righteous one

Romans 5:17 — For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.

My prayer echos David's heart in verse ten, thank you Heavenly Father we exult you, we talk about you, boast about you, we praise and worship you today for you are worthy.
In Jesus name, thank you, amen.
