Annihilationism or Eternal Conscious Punishment

Can I get an Amen?

Can I get an Amen?

Psalm 41

1 Blessed is the one who considers the poor! In the day of trouble the Lord delivers him;

Thoughts - we were poor in spirit, dead in our sins, and Jesus spoke blessing over us and instead of Hell we have been given the Kingdom of Heaven. (See Matt 5:3

Colossians 1:13 & 14 puts it this way - He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Are you poor? Welcome to the Kingdom of Heaven!

2 the Lord protects him and keeps him alive; he is called blessed in the land; you do

not give him up to the will of his enemies.

The LORD will keep you alive, just because the body is no longer working means nothing to GOD, he was still able to talk with Abel after Cain had killed him. To Moses he said he was the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and of Jacob. Not that he use to be their GOD because their bodies had long since decayed, but he was still their GOD because they were still alive to him. Lazarus even though he had been dead and buried and should have been the early stages of decay (john 11:17) He was still alive to Jesus because GOD, Jesus, the Holy Spirit are the resurrection and life.

3 The Lord sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health.

The LORD can sustain us no matter the illness, but the question you have to ask is temporary healing here on earth, in this fallen world apart from GOD really being restored to full health or is full health being forever in the presence of the LORD.

Paul puts it this way - Philippians 1:21-23  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

4 As for me, I said, “O Lord, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against you!”

Notice who the psalmist writes who he has sinned against? Although we have gotten to Psalm 51:4 David writes - Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment.

Look at another example in Genesis 20:6 - Then God said to him in the dream, "Yes, I know that you have done this in the integrity of your heart, and it was I who kept you from sinning against me. Therefore I did not let you touch her.

Abimelech actions could have hurt both Abraham and Sarah, but GOD told him that he would have sinned against GOD.  Our sin has consequences on others including ourselves, but GOD is the one whom we've sinned against.

5 My enemies say of me in malice, “When will he die, and his name perish?”

Our enemy the Devil came to kill and separate us from GOD and ruin our names.

I look forward to the day as the song lyrics from the group MercyMe reads -

Oh, you ain't my King though

Oh, where did your sting go?

Oh death, I will not be afraid

In the end you will lose

I will dance on your grave

With the One who buried you

You ain't nothing but a stone

That my Savior rolled away

Set you straight and set me free

Oh death you are dead to me

Oh death you are dead to me

The Devil (Even this is not his proper name) and all his rebels will be dead to us and their names will be forgotten long into eternity.

6 And when one comes to see me, he utters empty words, while his heart gathers

iniquity; when he goes out, he tells it abroad.

He did in times past, but very soon he will be the one cast down. So says the Word of GOD  in Rev 12:10  - And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.

7 All who hate me whisper together about me; they imagine the worst for me.

Hate will be swallowed by the love of GOD and the Devil obviously missed Joseph's words on the matter, - As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. Genesis 5:20 and the people who GOD has kept alive - After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands Revelation 7:9

8 They say, “A deadly thing is poured out on him; he will not rise again from where he lies.”

The Devil is all talk and "Lies". Oh Death where is your sting?

9 Even my close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me.

This passage was referring to the only person in recorded history by our creator that He actually said, "It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.” see Matthew 26:24. Judas had every chance possible, he walked with Jesus, he saw the miracles. People often challenge GOD, to come down, show yourself, talk to me and maybe I'll believe. It didn't work for Judas and it won't work for those who only see Jesus as a good man, a good teacher or a simple rabbi.

10 But you, O Lord, be gracious to me, and raise me up, that I may repay them!

GOD is the one who is going to carryout the repayment process. See Romans 12:19

11 By this I know that you delight in me: my enemy will not shout in triumph over me.

The only thing the accuser of the Brethren will have left is "Weeping" and "Gnashing of teeth."  see Matthew 8:12

12 But you have upheld me because of my integrity, and set me in your presence

 forever.

The integrity we will possess is Christ's and it's the only reason we will be forever in his presence. 2Co 5:21 - For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

13 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting!

Amen and Amen.

My Prayer - Oh Heavenly Father you are indeed blessed, we were poor in spirit and you came and rescued us. No one is too far gone, sadly the son of perdition made his choice just as the other sons of GOD willingly did and still continue to rebel to this day. Just as they continue, you continue to seek and save the lost, set the captive free. Holy Spirit help us to walk and work with you as you seek and save. May we be about our father business - Mat 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Jesus

Can I get an Amen?
